RCIA

WHAT IS RCIA?
In the first chapter of Saint John’s Gospel two of John’s disciples
approached Jesus and asked, “Where are you staying”? Jesus simply said to them, “come and see”. That one short sentence is a summary of both the motive for and the object of the RCIA process.
RCIA stands for the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults”. This is the
process by which one becomes a member of the Catholic Church.
The process was designed, first, for non-baptized persons; and, secondly, for baptized Catholics who are seeking to prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist. The third focus is on meeting the needs of baptized non-Catholics who are inquiring about the Catholic tradition of Christianity.

Here at Our Lady of the Springs we open the doors of RCIA also to other Catholics who have completed the Sacraments of Initiation and who may be returning to the practice of their faith, or simply want to confront the primary beliefs of their faith at an adult level.
We will begin the RCIA process with an Inquiry Night on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the Education Building. If you have any questions or would like further information, call Deacon

SICK CALLS

Communion and Anointing of the Sick is offered to shut-ins. Please call the Parish Office.

PRO-LIFE MINISTRIES
Our Pro Life Ministry is on a break for the summer and will meet again
in the fall.

VOLUNTEERING
Drivers are needed to deliver homebound meals from Monday
through Friday.
Along with delivering a meal, volunteers bring a bit of sunshine into
the lives of our frail elderly clients. A driver’s cheerful face may be
the only one they see that day.
Volunteers also do a well-being check with meal delivery, making sure
all the clients are safe and sound. We have open positions in Ocala
and the west Hwy 200 area.
For more information call Julie Forehand at 620-3437
